This guide is meant to be a comprehensive starter package for you to begin the game, as a new player. It will walk you through the first levels, and teach you some of the most important concepts in the game, to get you going in the community.

Thanks to our player Riagrin for creating this detailed guide. Your effort and expertise are greatly appreciated!

The guide is published in August 2024, so some of the information might eventually become outdated. But most of the things, proven by the years of different Edda servers, should stay relevant. Realizing most players won’t have the time to read through the whole guide, if you take 3 things with you from it, keep these in mind:

  • Press F10 for in-game tutorials.
  • Visit Master Crafter Jacks in Gaiyan Town and save your Time Coins (obtainable every 30 minutes) for a 7-day EXP cape (200%).
  • Join the Pegasus server Discord, if finding this guide from another place. There are people always willing to help you!

Character Creation

When you first create your character, you’re greeted with the choice of a Faction; Olympus or Titan. This mainly affects your side that you play on the Sacred War (PvP of the game, see previous screenshot for more info).

Pick whichever side looks more appealing for you, as this can be changed later in the game too! As for the class selection, here is a quick rundown on what the classes are like:

The game has 3 class archetypes, that are each split into 2 different classes. You can pick your first class specialization at level 20, you can see all classes here.

(Fighter) Warrior:

2h sword wielder, that utilizes heavy hitting strikes for damage.

(Fighter) Swordsman:

Uses 1h sword & shield, tank of the party that also has some CC (crowd control) skills to manipulate opponents.

(Rogue) Assassin:

Bursty damage dealer with katars, specializes in evasion more than with standing hits and has different ways to stealth. Both in- and out of combat.

(Rogue) Archer:

High single target damage, has access to different traps for setting up various effects. Lacks the natural evasion of assassins, but makes it up with more range as a bow user.

(Mage) Wizard:

Has spells to utilize Area of Effect damage with staffs, as well as CC skills. A versatile toolkit fit for many situations.

(Mage) Cleric

Healer of the party, strong at what it does and does it well. Uses orb & shield.

Bonus tip: If you’re starting with a friend, it has been a very strong combination having both a warrior and cleric throughout the life of the game. This applies to both PvE and PvP. But ultimately pick what looks interesting to you!

Leveling Up

Entering the game (Gaiyan Town)

Once you start the game, you’re given the choice to do the tutorial or to skip it. It rewards you with a 1-day animal costume and a permanent tutorial cap. The tutorial only takes about 3 minutes to complete, so it is generally worth doing for the cap, as nearly all costumes in this game server are time-limited.

The game itself provides some costumes (among other items), but you can buy them in the website store and try out lots of fun clothes and accessories!

A new character has entered the town

You can also skip the tutorial at any time by pressing this button. Once you enter Gaiyan Town; the main town of the game, you can start questing right away to start your journey.

F10 brings up in-game tutorials. These are some of the important NPC’s and quest status symbols shown on the map (M).

Merchant: At the first levels, you’ll mainly be using the merchant to buy more potions as needed.

Try to keep at least 1 Stone of Return and 1 Warp Scroll (Gaiyan Town) with you at all times, to have fast access to teleport between the town and a map of your choice. With Stone of Return – item, you can return to a map that you have set as your waypoint. This can be done by interacting with the “Host of Return” check the Icon Description -screenshot).

Storage Manager: Here you can store your items, by buying
warehouse slots. The first slots can be purchased through in-game
gold, each page having 36 slots to store items. Additional slots can be bought from the cash shop, but the first two will take you far already.

Class Master: In previous game versions, you had to interact with
these NPC’s to learn the skills. Now you can do it from the icon shown below. These NPC’s give you the level 20 class advancement quest.

You should gain your first level just by interacting with the first quests in the town.

After that, you can enter the skill learning window (note that you can preview all learned skills by pressing K) from this icon.

Before level 20, you’re able to learn skills from both classes of your class archetype. For example, mages can learn both wizard and cleric skills until lv 20 advancement quest.

If you already have a clear preference on which class you want to pick, you can choose to learn the skills from that class exclusively. The first skill might not be available for you until level 3. However, feel free to learn skills from both classes to try them both. You might even enjoy the other more than the one you originally planned on going with! You can reset your skill points with 100 God Points from the Miscellaneous Merchant Icarus at Gaiyan Town, this can be done as many times as you’d like.

After you’ve interacted with the NPC’s in Gaiyan Town, you can head to Gaiyan Plains for your first combat quest.

Gaiyan Plains

Here starts your road for becoming stronger at the class of your
choice.

The first mob that you have a quest from, is level 1 rats.

The quests in the game often come in pairs, a kill & collect quest. Both completed from the same mobs. So it is recommended to take all blue quest markers that you see, as you might be completing two or more quests simultaneously without even realizing it.

This is also a chance to immediately test out both weapons. (Z) changes the weapon, and the starter skill on your hotbar changes accordingly. You can drag the skills freely on the hotbar. Additionally, you can customize your skill keybindings from ESC -> Shortcut Option.

Bonus tip: “Move to Safe Zone” has a cooldown of 30 minutes, and returns you to the icon “Revival Sanctuary” shown in map. It is also the place you revive at, when dying.

Important to note is, that on the first levels the mob EXP far outweighs the quest EXP. So if you keep killing monsters (for example level 3 boars at character level 2), you level up considerably faster than doing quests.

This however has the drawback of not getting gold and armors from the quests, but it is an alternate way if you want to speed through the early levels, for new characters for example.

You can continue questing normally here until reaching around level 10, that’s when you can move to Gold Mine for the next map. At Gaiyan Plains it’s entirely possible to level up to 10 by only killing mobs, but previous tips apply.

Bonus tip: You get an EXP and drop rate penalty, if the mob is lower or higher by 5 than your character level.

Gold Mine

You can complete quests here normally from levels 10 to 15. A mob called Red Goblin gives also a considerable amount of EXP.

Red Goblin locations

Frosty Wind Valley

Completing quests normally from level 15 onwards until level 25. One important note is to do the quests labeled [god], as they grant you 1000 god points per 1. Do all 5 of them, and you gain enough god points to purchase your “God Power” (after lv 20 class advancement quest).

This is a buff that you can use every 1 minute by spending a combat resource called “CP”, that each class earn with different conditions. It is an attack buff, and grants you considerable amount of extra attack. It’s worth keeping this active in combat always when possible.

Another way to gain god points (GP), is to participate in Sacred War, that is on an identical schedule every day. It is the PvP mode of this game, Olympus vs Titans in 3 different maps.

After being done with Frosty Wind Valley at level 25, you should have a basic understanding on how the game works. Now you’re ready to venture further into next maps!
